Union A.M.E. Church (Little Rock, Ark.)
Variant namesUnion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Little Rock, Ark., was established in 1906 after the merger of Brown Memorial and Centenial A.M.E. Churches. Both Brown Memorial and Centennial A.M.E. Churches had been in existence since the 1890s. After the merger, the name was changed and the site for a new building was purchased. The cornerstone of the new church at Wright Avenue and Pulaski Street was laid in 1911 under the pastorate of Rev. G.B. Ashford.
