William Edgewood Baker was a Montgomery, Ala., photographer for over four decades. He was born in 1878 in Alabama and established a photography studio in Montgomery in the early 1900s. His studio was located in the top floor of a building at 116 1/2 Dexter Avenue. In the early 1940s he became the photographer for the Alabama Dept. of Agriculture and Industry. His health soon failed and he died at his home in Troy, Ala. on May 9, 1948.
