Rochester Institute of Technology. Commuter Association,

Hide Profile

The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Commuter Association was founded around 1970. A student-run organization, the group was formed to support the needs of the Institute's large commuter population. According to its newsletter, the purpose of the group was: to represent the commuter population of RIT, to promote more interaction between commuters and residents, to make the commuter feel more a part of this school, and to provide services to meet the unique needs of the commuting students. The group held general meetings, organized resources for members such as housing information, promoted resident-commuter interaction, and addressed issues and concerns faced by commuters. The group was replaced by the Off Campus Student Association.
