Composer, Gunther Tautenhahn, was born in Kaunas, Lithuana on December 22, 1938. He came to the United States on November 30, 1951, and became a U.S. citizen in 1953. He moved to California in 1967, residing there still.

Tautenhahn studied composition in New York and Vienna, and has won many awards for his compositions including six ASCAP Standard Awards

His compositions have been performed and broadcast in Africa, Austria, Australia, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Korea, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, U.K., and United States, by chamber groups and orchestras, and the the world's leading musicians.
