Amy Schwartz Oppenheim was born on 10 July 1878 in Louisville, Kentucky to Eugenie (Lehman) Schwartz and Moses Schwartz. She was educated at public and private schools. She married Laurent Oppenheim on 6 June 1900 and they had two children, Laurent and Jean Paul. Oppenheim was active in World War work and in suffrage campaigns. She was a member of the Republican party and participated actively in New York City politics. She was a founding member of the Women's National Republican Club and a charter member of the Women's City Club. She was involved in numerous other New York clubs and associations, as well, which were representative of her interests in the arts and the cultural life of the city. Her date of death is unknown.
