Smaulding, Bazz Owen
Smaulding was considered one of the best athletes to come from New Mexico. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1919 and played for three professional baseball teams: the Kansas City Monarchs (1928-30) and the American Giants of Chicago (1930-31) in the negro baseball leagues, and Gilkerson's Union Giants of Chicago (1931-35).
