Pierce, Leonidas William (L. W.), 1864-1922.
Southern Baptist missionary to Central China, 1891-1922. Graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. After Pierce drowned in 1922, his wife, Nellie Pierce, and daughter, Dr. Ethel M. Pierce, remained in China until 1942. Mrs. Pierce taught at the E Teh Girls' Primary School, Yangchow, China.
