Lubchenco, Portia
Variant namesColorado physician. Born Portia Mary McKnight, Paxville, S.C. on August 6, 1887. Married Alexis Eleazer Lubchenco, Russian agronomist. Spent early career in pre-revolutionary Moscow. Family settled in Haxtun, Colo., 1931. Later moved to Sterling, Colorado where she practiced medicine. Spent retirement working with the elderly in Denver, Colorado. Died in 1978 in Denver, Colo.
