Wharey, James Blanton, 1872-1946
Variant namesJames Blanton Wharey was valedictorian of the Davidson College class of 1891. While a student, he was a member of the Philanthropic Society. After graduation, he attended The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Berlin. He was a professor of English at Peabody College and the University of Texas.
