Abramowitz, Ruth

Ruth Abramowitz (1924-2001) was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in the various boroughs of New York for most of her life. She was secretary of Local 101, Utility Division of the Transport Workers Union. At other times she worked as a beautician, owned a company that provided eye care to union members, and for many years was assistant to the treasurer of Bonds for Israel. Abramowitz never married. In 1986 she moved to Montclair, New Jersey, where she was active Temple Shomrei Emunah and was vice-president of the sisterhood. She died in Montclair in 2001.
