Francis P. Puzycki was born in Jewett City, Conn. in 1924 and enlisted in the Army at Hartford, Conn. in 1943. His parents were John Puzycki and Josephine Abramowski Puzycki. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried and had completed four years of high school. Puzycki joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. and was assigned to Company C of the 86th Infantry Regiment. He also served at Camp Carson, Colo. and Camp Swift, Tex. before being sent to Italy. Later, after his military service Puzycki changed his surname to Curran. Frances Curran died in 2007.
