Mitchell, Israel
Variant namesIsrael Mitchell, a grand-nephew of Daniel Boone, was born in Kentucky in 1796. He moved to Oregon Territory in 1847 as part of a wagon train. There Mitchell had a variety of jobs from civil engineer to judge, until he was elected to the legislature of the state. He died near Portland, Oregon in 1873.
