Benno Forman (1930-1982) was a scholar of the American decorative arts. A native of Virginia, he served as a research fellow and teaching associate for the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture. He was also an adjunct assistant professor in the Art History Department at the University of Delaware. He was an authority on American furniture of the 17th and early 18th centuries.
