Swain, E. H. F. (Edward Harold Fulcher), 1883-1970

E H F Swain joined the NSW Department of Forestry as Cadet Forester in 1899. He was appointed Director of Forests, Queensland, in 1918, and in 1924 Chairman of the Forestry Board. When he retired in 1948 he was commissioner of NSW Forestry Commission. He has written a number of items relating to forestry.

Edward Harold Fulcher Swain was born April 6, 1883 in Glebe, NSW. He worked as a research consultant for Australian Paper Manufacturers 1933-34, was Chairman of the Queensland Forestry Board 1924-32 and Commissioner for Forests, New South Wales, 1935-48. He was United Nations forestry consultant to Ethiopia 1951-55. He died on July 3, 1970.
