Author, born in Woodsville, New Hampshire in 1894, studied at Radcliffe (A.B. 1918, A.M. 1922) and did further graduate work 1926-1927, 1928-1929. Was first employed as an advertising copy editor, then editor of Memoirs of the Harvard Dead in the War against Germany, and of Harvard Africa Studies. Wrote more than 100 short stories, mysteries, and romantic novels; reviewed books for the San Diego Union and the New York herald Tribune.
