William D. Moore was a member of the Harvard College Class of 1985 and received his AB in 1986. He married Charlotte Emans in 1991; they had one child. While pursuing a PhD from Boston University, which he received in 1999, Moore was the Director of the Livingston Masonic Library in New York City. From 1999-2001, he was the Executive Director of the Enfield Shaker Museum in Enfield, New Hampshire. In 2001, Moore began teaching history at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. In 2011, he became Associate Professor of American Material Culture at Boston University.
