A. (Albin) Walter Norblad, Jr. (1908-1964), was born in Escanaba, Delta County, Michigan in 1908 and moved with his parents to Astoria, Oregon that same year. He attended Astoria public schools and the New Mexico Military Academy at Roswell. He graduated from the University of Oregon at Eugene in 1932. His father, Albin Walter Norblad, Sr. served as Governor of Oregon from 1929 to 1931. Norblad, Jr. was admitted to the bar in 1932 and subsequently practiced law in Astoria. He was elected to the Oregon state house of representatives in 1935 and served until 1937. He was also elected to the seventy-ninth U.S. Congress as a Republican and served until 1964. Norblad, Jr. died in office on September 20, 1964. His son Albin W. Norblad III, is an Oregon Circuit Court judge (as of 2012).
