Havens, Richie, 1941-2013
Richard Pierce "Richie" Havens (January 21, 1941 – April 22, 2013); was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist; Born in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn; began performing in Greenwich Village in 1960s; first performer at Woodstock; began acting during the 1970s; In 1993, Havens performed at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton; On April 22, 2013, Havens died of a heart attack at home in Jersey City, New Jersey
