Cuts and phases out the Interest & Dividends Tax for retirees,

Provides tax relief to employers and small businesses,

Delivers voluntary paid family medical leave,

Spends more money per pupil for public education than ever before.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Sununu took unprecedented action to balance the health and safety of Granite Staters with keeping the state's economy strong. New Hampshire always ranked among the safest states for Covid. Today, the Granite State has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation and the lowest child poverty rate of any state in America.

Sununu earned a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has served as chief executive officer of the Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire. Sununu is a son of former New Hampshire Governor and White House Chief of Staff John H. Sununu, and a younger brother of former U.S. Representative and Senator John E. Sununu.

The moderate-libertarian Sununu received 516,609 votes (65.1%) against Democratic nominee Dan Feltes in November 2020, the highest number of votes for an elected official in a statewide race, and outpaced President Donald Trump (365,654; 45.4%) by about 151,000 votes of approximately 793,000 cast, as Trump lost New Hampshire's electoral votes. Sununu's 2021 budget proposal included phasing out New Hampshire's only state income tax—on dividends and interest income (which Sununu states unfairly targets senior citizens more likely to be living off those types of income); slightly reducing selected other taxes; and instituting targeted student loan relief for those entering the healthcare, biotechnology, and social work fields.

In January 2021, Sununu began his third term as governor of New Hampshire, one term short of the modern record of four served by John Lynch from 2005 to 2013.
