HILLIARD, REUBEN, 1769-1812; b. 1769 in Burlington, New Jersey. He was one of six or seven children and was left an orphan; Become a laborer at Evesham, N.J. Was a good singer. Then was a superintendent of his aunt's farm at Rancocas, New Jersey; ca. 1793 was imprisoned for declining a militia tax. Began to speak in meetings in Rancocas; 1795 recognized a minister and travelled in New Jersey, New York and Penna.; 1801 m. settled at Evesham, N.J. Later, after an illness, did farming near Burlington, N.J.; 1805, removed to Old Springfield, N.J. and in 1806 finally lived at Salem, N.J.; d. ca. 1812 in Salem (?), N.J.m aged 43 years.
