<p>Kate Elliott, founder of Elliott Brown Gallery (1993), relocated to the Pacific Northwest in the spring of 2014 after becoming a Certified member of the Appraisers Association of America of New York in late 2013. While working toward a fine art degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and studying glass under Harvey Littleton, Elliott was among the earliest participants at the Pilchuck Glass School (1972). Later she taught Professional Practices for Artists there, and served as acting director (1990), and still serves on the Trustee Circle. She was the artistic and business assistant to Dale Chihuly (1974-88), and worked as a private art dealer specializing in glass (1980-93) in Arizona and Washington. From 1976-1979 she was the secretary of the Sculpture Department at Rhode Island School of Design where she expedited the Visiting Artists Program instituted by Chihuly in 1976.</p>
