Jones, William, -1782

JONES, William ( -1782) Of Mansfield, Burlington Co. N.J. Married, ('proposed ye 2d. time',) in Burlington MM 3mo (May) 4, 1747. On 10mo. (Dec.) 17 1747 he obtained a certificate from Chesterfield to Burlington, and the inference is that his first wife had died, when we find him with Elizabeth Powell 'proposing 2d. time' for marriage to the monthly meeting, 8mo. (October) 1, 1750. William Jones died 6mo. 18, 1782.

p.90. William Jones son of Jonathan and Mary Jones, near Burlington, was born the 17th of the 5th Mo. 1776. Elizabeth Jones daughter of the said Jonathan and Mary was born the 4th of the 10th Mo. 1779. William Jones (Father of the above named Jonathan) died 18 of 6 mo. 1782.

p.201. At our Monthly Meeting held at Burlington the 1st of the 8th Month 1750... William Jones and Elizabeth Powell now appeared and declared their continued intentions of Marriage and no obstruction appearing they are left at Liberty to accomplish the same according to our order...
