A testimony of Wrightstown Monthly Meeting in Pennsylvania concerning our ancient friend Thomas Ross, who departed this life at the house of our friend Lindley Murray, at Holgate near the City of York in Old England, the 13th of the 2nd month 1786 in the 78th year of his age ... having been a minister upwards of 50 years; born (according to his own relation) in the county of Tyrone in the kingdom of Ireland ... of reputable parents of the episcopal church; coming into America about the twentieth year of his age, and settling within the limits of Buckingham Monthly Meeting, he soon after became convinced of the Truth as professed by Friends, and joined in membership with them, continuing a member of said meeting until the year 1753, when he became a member among us; visited ... once in company with our late esteemed friend John Griffith of Old England through the Southern and Northern Colonies
