Daughter of Abba May Alcott Nieriker, and Ernest Nieriker. She was 6 weeks old when her mother died and she was sent the following year to live with her aunt Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women, in Concord, Massachusetts. When her aunt Louisa passed away in 1888 Ernest returned to America and took his daughter to Vienna, Switzerland to live with him. Lulu would go on to marry Emil Rasim in 1903 and lived a quiet life in Reutlingen, Germany where she died in 1975 at the age of 96.
