(2d) Abigail (Holloway) Bissell (d.1796); Family removed to Phila. during childhood after death of the parents; John served an apprenticeship in Phila; 1773 with Zebulon Heston visited the Delaware Indians residing in western Penna.; 1777 recommended a minister; In 1784 with James Cresson visited in the Barbadoes;... 1806 wrote Remarks on the Slavery of the Black People; 1807 visited in Baltimore for Yearly Meeting;... d. Oct. 21, 1807 after a stroke, in Baltimore, in his 78th year.
