Younger, Maud, 1870-1936
Maud Younger (January 10, 1870, San Francisco, CA – June 25, 1936, Los Gatos, CA); born to a wealthy family; began activism work after visiting New York College Settlement House; joined the New York Waitresses' Union; wokred as a waitress in San Francisco and organized the city's first Waitresses' Union, served as first president; helped found the San Francisco Wage Earners' Suffrage League, 1908; gave memorial keynote at funeral of Inez Milholland Boissevain, 1916; joined Congressional Union (later the National Woman's Party);
