<p>inherited a fortune from her father ; between 1894 and 1908 took thirteen excursions to Mayan archaeological sites in Yucatan and Mexico, researching artwork and producing watercolor paintings of ruins ; died during a trip to attend the International Congress of Americanists in Rio de Janeiro.</p>
<p>Alfred P. Maudsley encouraged her to use watercolorist skills to document archaeological sites ; created illustrations of Chichén Itzá, Temple of Jaguars, Acancéh, and Teotihuacán ; contributed to Mayan languages ; contributor to professional organizations such as the International Congress of Americanists.</p>
