Adelaide Kendall Bullen; born January 12, 1908, Worcester, Massachusetts; cultural and physical anthropologist.

Born in 1908, she was the daughter of Oliver Sawyer Kendall and Grace Marble Kendall. She married Ripley P. Bullen on 25 Jul 1929. The couple raised two sons, Dana Ripley II and Pierce Kendall, and eventually had four grandchildren as well. In 1943, at age 35, Adelaide received her A.B. degree cum laude from Radcliffe. She then embarked upon a career in cultural and physical anthropology.

Mrs. Bullen worked alongside her husband on numerous projects including the founding of their publishing company, Kendall Books. She also researched and wrote articles with her husband.

Several years after Ripley's death, Adelaide married Kenneth Sutherland Bullen (no relation to Ripley). She died in Gainesville, Florida, on May 17, 1987.
