Esther Irene Brisbin was born in Milton Center, Ohio, on June 26, 1899, to Minnie Hall and Charles H. Brisbin. In 1919, she married Herman Foster Weatherbee, a minister from Nashville, Ohio. There, she taught elementary school until the death of her husband. Brisbin returned to Wood County and enrolled in Bowling Green State Normal College in 1920, where she received a diploma in elementary education on June 16, 1921.
In February of 1922, Brisbin married Royal Francis Chamberlain. They resided at 331 South Grove in Bowling Green. She received her Elementary School Life certificate on November 7, 1924.
