This collection centers on the correspondence and family history of the Garrigues family and the Price family, to whom the former were linked with the marriage of Edward Garrigues and Margaret Price. Deborah Darby was a daughter of John and Hannah Barnard of Upperthrope, near Sheffield, Yorks. In 1776 she married Samuel Darby, son of Abraham and Abiah Darby of Coalbrookdale. Her visit to America will ever be memorctble in connection with the conversion of Stephen Grellet.

The Jackson-Conard Family Papers include correspondence, journals and commonplace books, estate, property, and financial records. The correspondence received by William Jackson is primarily in support of his travelling ministry from other ministers and prominent Friends. Also included is a note from Joshua Pusey discussing the reasons for Friends' avoidance of certain colors in plain dress. Moses Brown makes reference to the activities of the Free Quakers in New England in the early 1780's.
