Ernest Edward Christensen was born July 31, 1913, in Falmouth, Maine. He received his commission as ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1934, and advanced through the ranks to rear admiral in July 1962, and retired from service in 1972. Christensen died in March 1988, in Annapolis, Maryland.
