Tetinek, Eugene.

Eugene Tetinek was born in Bern, Switzerland in 1905. He immigrated to the United States in 1912, settling in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1932, he came to Alaska in search of work and arrived in Fort Yukon that same year. At that point he bought a book on photography and began to document his experiences with his camera. He remained in Fort Yukon until 1934. Tetinek lived on and off in Marshall, working in the mines, before moving to Russian Mission in 1946. He worked in Adak at one point, and spent three years in the army. While he was in the army in the early 1940's he became affiliated with the 10th Air Rescue Group. He left Russian Mission in 1956 and eventually moved to Anchorage in 1989. Tetinek died in 1996.
