Wright, James M., 1880-

James M. Wright (1880-?) spent his youth in Missouri, and attended Norborne public schools. After high school, Wright completed undergraduate work at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, before graduating with a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. He married Eva Burrus on 5 September 1906 in Liberty, Missouri and they had one son, James M. Wright. Wright taught at numerous academic institutions, among them Georgetown College and Baylor University, before accepting a faculty position at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, where he taught economics and sociology during the late 1920s and 1930s. He authored numerous scholarly articles about economics, law, and race relation, and later wrote, The License System of the City of Atlanta, published in 1964. Additional descriptive information regarding James M. Wright has not been determined.
