Charles P. Crawford (1826-1900), a Georgia lawyer and plantation owner, son of Joel Crawford (1783-1858). In 1855, he married Martha Williamson (1836-1876). From 1855 to 1859, the Crawfords lived in Americus, Sumter County, Ga. In 1859, the family moved to Flat Pond, Lee County where Crawford had purchased a plantation. In 1861, Crawford enlisted in the 11th Regiment of Georgia Volunteer Infantry; in 1862 he was promoted to the rank of Captain of Co. B. After the war, the Crawfords lived in Milledgeville, Ga.
