Robinson, Henry Crabb, 1775-1867
Henry Crabb Robinson was an English barrister and foreign correspondent, reporting from the continent during the Napoleonic Wars. In 1811 he began keeping a diary, in which he recorded thoughts and observation on friends and acquaintances, including most of the major literary figures in England and continental Europe. His diary remains an invaluable resource for Anglophiles and students of European Romanticism.

Henry W. Robinson was a blacksmith from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He enlisted in the Confederate army in late March or early April, 1862, and served with Company B of the 42nd Georgia Infantry Regiment. During part of his service he was a drummer. He served first in East Tennessee and saw his first action in a skirmish at Cumberland Gap on April 29, 1862.
