Raymond L. Lindeman was born in 1915 and received a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1941. He was a post doctoral fellow at Yale associated with Professor G. Evelyn Hutchinson when he died in June, 1942. Lindeman's paper, "The Trophic-dynamic Aspect of Ecology," published posthumously by Ecology Magazine is considered a classic in the field of environmental science.
