Jennings, Arthur B
Arthur Bates Jennings, Jr. was born in New York City, July 11, 1887, the son of distinguished architect, Arthur Bates Jennings. He attended college at Wesleyan, the University of Pennsylvania, and Dickinson College, where he was appointed college organist in 1910. In a career spanning over 50 years, Arthur worked as an organist and choir director at several universities and churches across the United States, including Plymouth Congregational Church, Minneapolis, 1939-1966, and the University of Minnesota, 1938-1956, where he retired as Professor Emeritus.
Amy Jerome Wagner married Arthur B. Jennings in 1913. Amy was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1887. She and Arthur moved to Minneapolis in 1938, when Arthur took at position as the organist and instructor at the University of Minnesota. Amy was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the Faculty Women's Club, and the church choir. Amy Jerome Jennings died in Minneapolis in 1962; followed by her husband, Arthur Bates Jennings, in 1972.
