Bagwell, Paul D. (Paul Douglas), 1913-1973

A speech professor at Michigan State University, Paul D. Bagwell served as head of their Department of Communication, 1954-1955. He graduated from the University of Akron in 1937 and received his Master of Arts Degree from University of Wisconsin in 1938. A resident of Grosse Pointe Park, Mr. Bagwell became a member of the Speech Association of America in 1938 and served as executive vice-president for three years. He was the 1960 Republican candidate for Governor of Michigan, served on the MSU Board of Trustees, and was featured on the cover of Time Magazine on October 24, 1960.
