David Huyler came to Cornell in 1942. He joined the Army in 1943, serving until 1945. He returned to Cornell in 1945 and graduated in 1948; he received an M.A. in 1949. At Cornell, he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He married Virginia Williams who also graduated from Cornell in 1948.
