Howard, J. E.
[James] J. E. Howard was the Assistant Treasurer and Paymaster of the Detroit, Lansing and Northern, the Saginaw Valley and St. Louis, and the Pere Marquette railroads, the Chicago and West Michigan Railway, and related railroads from at least 1889 through at least 1897, and Chief Clerk of the Pere Marquette Railroad beginning in 1900. He lived in Grand Rapids (1885-1900) and in Detroit (1900-1902). Howard was a Baptist and served as Chair of the Board of the State Normal School in Ypsilanti. In 1899 he resigned as Director of the Pere Marquette Railroad. Further information about Howard is unavailable.
