Kennedy, Mary Jean, 1918-
Mary Jean Kennedy Aerni (1918-1998) was awarded her A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1939 and her Ph. D. in Anthropology at U.C. Berkeley in 1955. She did her early fieldwork among the San Carlos Apache, the Karok, the Yokuts, and the Kashaya Pomo. In the mid-1950s, she was one of the first American anthropologists to work in Pakistan, and in the 1960s she worked among the Karamajong, a tribe in Uganda. In the late 1970s she worked among the Yurok.

Jon Kennedy (1918- ) is an American editorial cartoonist who worked at the Arkansas Democrat for over 40 years. Born in Springfield, Missouri on August 19, 1918, Kennedy started his career as a staff artist at the Springfield (Mo.) Leader-Press while still in high school. After several years in the art department there (1935-1941), Kennedy moved on to become editorial cartoonist in August 1941 for the Arkansas Democrat in Little Rock.
