Northbridge Historical Commission established ca. 1980 by vote of town meeting; limited in its enforcement activities but can recommend to other town boards proper treatment of historical structures, cemeteries, streetscapes, and other areas in which the historical integrity of the town should be preserved. In addition it can nominate suitable properties to the National Register of Historic Places and propose legislation relating to local historical districts.
