D., 1943), University of South Africa (D.D. in African history, 1969) Serampore University (Th. D., 1970), and University of California, Los Angeles (Ed. D, 1971); professor at Fuller Seminary's School of World Mission, 1966-1981; known for stimulating the study and understanding of revival and evangelism; authored many books and was advisor to Billy Graham; married Ivy Muriel Carol Carlson, 1937 and had four children; died in 1987.
