Case, Dale E.
Case was born on July 17, 1905, the son of Edward and Sarah (Gammet) Case, in Comstock, Mich. He graduated from Kalamazoo High School (1923) and earned his B.A. from Western Mich. University (1931), his M.S. from the University of Chicago (1938), and his Ph. D. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (1955). Case taught geography at numerous universities, including Muskegon Junior College, the universities of Wisconsin and Cincinnati, West Chester University, Central Michigan University (1956-1959), Central Missouri State University, East Carolina University, Central Connecticut State University, and Nebraska Wesleyan University. He was known as an outstanding teacher. Case then worked for Denoyer-Geppert Co. as a cartographer and teacher, 1959-1968. Case authored articles and numerous teaching aids to help teachers use maps and globes more effectively in the classrooms. He never married. Case died on Sept. 20, 1982 in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
