William Hooke was a Protestant clergyman and domestic chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. He was born in London and graduated from Oxford, and spent several years in New England as a pastor. He returned to England in 1656, becoming the domestic chaplain and advisor for his friend Oliver Cromwell and running the Savoy hospital.
