Detroit Councilman Nicholas Hood was born on June 21, 1923 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University in 1945, a Masters of Arts Degree from Yale University in 1946, and did graduate work in sociology at Wayne State University.
