General George Rust, Jr. (1788-1857) of "Rockland" and "Exeter" in Loudoun County, Virginia, and Baltimore, Maryland, was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, (1818-1819, 1820-1823), brigadier general of the Sixth Brigade, Virginia Militia and Superintendent of the U.S. Arsenal at Harper's Ferry, (1830-1837). He was an ardent Democrat.
