The Papers were located in two family Bibles that were originally loaned to the San Jacinto Museum of History in 1939 by Mrs. Rubye Weatherford of Houston, Texas. Fifteen items were removed (on two separate occasions) from an 1830s Bible [RB BS 185 1830X.P55]. Two items were removed from an 1809 Bible [RB BS 185 1809.P55] that belonged to Tom Gresham, the uncle of Rubye Weatherford's father, Joe W. Ashford.
