Lowell Turrentine earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton in 1917 and his law degrees at Harvard in 1922 and 1929. He practiced law in Cleveland and New York City and was involved in the prosecution of the Elk Hills and Teapot Dome scandal, before joining the faculty of the Stanford Law School in the fall of 1929.
