Mack, Stephen, 1764-1826

Born in Lyme, Conn. 1764; married Temperance Bond and settled in Tunbridge, Vt., where he engaged in mercantile business; moved to Detroit 1710, and was in mercantile business with Thomas Emerson; after War of 1812, was one of firm of Mack & Conant until 1818; settled in Pontiac, 1818. Mack, Conant & Sibley built first dam, and first saw and flour mill at Pontiac. He was member of first Territorial Council of Michigan, which met at Detroit in 1824. Died at Pontiac, Nov. 11, 1826.
